Hip Hop: Out, Loud and Proud III Is In the books, and like previous installments it was a very entertaining and successful  evening.

Pandora Scooter, the riveting host and curator of the Hip Hop: Out, Loud and Proud series, enticed and challenged the audience with iconoclastic humor and tantalizing dialogue.

There was even audience participation with salacious haikus and thought-provoking Q & A.

Gay, straight, queer, lesbian, bisexual—how do you identify?  Some of the scene's hottest new hip-hop artists (who represent all orientations) will come together to voice their views on one of life’s hottest topics: sexuality. Curated and hosted by PANDORA SCOOTER, the evening's performers include New York-based rapper and wordsmith BRY’NT, poet and spoken word artist POETIC ASSASIN, hip-hop/R&B-influenced rapper SHORTY ROC, and  KAY ULANDAY BARRETT, Hip Hop: Out, Loud & Proud's first transgender artist. This cutting-edge spoken word performance will conclude with an open forum for conversation with artists and audience.

Street art—including stickers, posters, murals, graffiti, and even 3-D sculptures—is making its way into mainstream galleries and museums by Carolina A. Miranda

 New York City renaissance artist Conscious, will represent the street art element for Hip-Hop Fundamentals 101, part of the Alternate Routes International Hip-Hop Festival in April '09. Art News has a great article in their most recent issue discussing the rise of street art in the mainstream.
